Super important to remember! I put myself down for all the times I fail on this journey, but I have to tell myself at least I haven’t given up.

Home-made spaghetti with a meat sauce and no added sugar, but without that tart or bitter taste! It’s packed full of vitamins and protein and took about an hour to make. The sauce is made with real tomatoes, so there is hardly any sugar compared to a jar sauce.
Brown half a pound to a pound of ground turkey or beef in the same skillet or pan where you’ll be stewing the sauce. Slice and then cube 4 to 6 tomatoes, depending on size, add any spices you want, add two small cans of tomato sauce, one medium can of tomato paste, then stew on medium for half an hour. (I don’t like onions, so if you want to add them, you need to simmer thinly sliced pieces in the skillet with a little olive oil until they are transparent, then add the meat to brown.)
When the sauce has been stewing for about twenty minutes, you basically just take any pasta you want and cook it according to the package directions (except do not add salt to the water!) Whole grain pasta is the yummiest.
As a side note, I like using Mexican taco tomato sauce. It has much less sugar than the regular kind and adds a bit of spice and flavour to the recipe. Let me know if you make it and what you think!
